Find the Hidden Rule

NextUp presents ten sequence questions in a run. Read each sequence from left to right, choose one of four answers, and use the revealed answer to understand any mistake. Correct streaks add progressively larger score bonuses.

Patterns You Will Encounter

Repeating groups: red-blue-red-blue or A-B-B repeated.
Doubling: 2, 4, 8, 16 asks what comes after multiplying by two again.
Square numbers: 1, 4, 9, 16 follows 1², 2², 3², 4².
Rotation: arrows turn through up, right, down, and left.
Grouped symbols: two triangles followed by a circle form a repeating unit.

A Simple NextUp Strategy

Observe every item. Compare neighbouring items. Find the rule by testing repetition, direction, or number growth. Predict the missing item, then verify that the same rule explains the entire sequence.

NextUp questions

What kinds of patterns appear in NextUp?

The current set uses repeating colors, grouped shapes and letters, arrow rotation, doubling, and square numbers.

Is NextUp timed?

No. The ten questions have no countdown, so players can inspect each rule before answering.
